Chinatown’s Mid-Autumn Festival Street Light-up

One of the most popular Chinese festivals is here again! This year, families can enjoy the annual Mid-Autumn Festival light-up on livestream or in-person, as the streets Chinatown comes aglow with sculptured lanterns of Chang’er the Moon Goddess and other traditional favourite designs.
Festive lights are switched on nightly from 7 September to 5 October from 7pm to midnight along New Bridge Road, Eu Tong Sen Street and South Bridge Road.
Get delightfully grossed out by That’s Gross! Science Show

From the folks at Science Centre Singapore comes a science show oozing with icky goodness! Delve into the many disagreeable yet essential bodily secretions that will leave you squirming with discomfort.
Kids 8 and above will be fascinated with all that talk about pee, poop and sticky mucus at this science show that runs twice a day at the Centre’s Maxwell Auditorium.
Children's Festival featuring Art-Zoo Wonder Gardens

Gardens by the Bay presents an outdoor trail featuring larger-than-life inflatables! Your little ones will learn more about the garden as an ecosystem as they join Art-Zoo characters Bruno Bear, Little Kong and their good friends at the Supertree Grove.
Kids 4 to 12 can also join in their Wonder Workshops to make their own Shrink Art, slime, mask and other DIY crafts. Each 30-mins workshop runs from 4 September to 3 October on weekends only. Limited slots are available and a workshop fee for each child applies.

If you happen to be visiting Gardens by the Bay, drop in on Otah, their friendly Otter mascot and his friends, as they embark on adventures in their neighbourhood. Inspired by Singapore’s wildlife and incorporating the magic of storytelling with interactive games, each quest experience is designed to encourage family bonding and imaginative play!

Bazaar in the Garden @ Jurong Lake Gardens

Proud plant parents will be delighted to know that Jurong Lake Gardens host a Bazaar in the Garden (BIG) event every 4th Saturday of the month, especially for gardening enthusiasts. Sign up for their gardening workshops and talks, free garden tours as well as educational crafts activities for children.
Make your way down West with your family for BIG on 25 September. The event runs from 8am to 5.30pm and sign-ups are on a first-come first-serve basis.
Singapore Food Festival (SFF) 2021

The most delicious event of the year is here! This year, SFF is back with a mouth-watering range of gastronomic experiences.
Bring your family on experiential food tours to heritage neighbourhoods or visit local farms and factories. If you or your family members are avid cooks, sign up for in-person workshops or join live streamed masterclasses where professional chefs reinterpret traditional favourites like egg tarts, oyster omelette and goreng pisang.
The event runs from 27 August to 12 September.

Top off September on a sweet note with a visit to the newly-opened Museum of Ice Cream in Dempsey. Watch the kids go wow as your family explores 14 multi-sensory and interactive installations, including a giant pool of rainbow sprinkles and the psychedelic pink and yellow-themed Banana Jungle. For a delicious finale, enjoy – what else – a scoop of ice cream at their café!
