Shopping up north for all your needs

Of the several malls you can find in Yishun, Northpoint City stands out as being the largest. With several expansions added to the original 1992 premises, this huge shopping complex has everything you can find under one roof. A perfect place for a day out with the family, Northpoint City boasts everything from a food court to a public library , and is conveniently located in the middle of the community, creating easy accessibility.

You can expect to find a gym, healthcare products, department stores, and more among its range of stores. It even has a connected bus interchange and MRT station, making it a convenient transport hub.

Sports galore indoors

If you are the sporty type, look out for the activity centres dotted around Yishun and consider signing up to one for a place to work out or relax. SAFRA Yishun Country Club or HomeTeamNS Khatib are both centrally located and designed for families. Both offer membership for NSmen at reasonable rates, and have state-of-the-art facilities for a huge range of activities from BBQ pits to swimming pools. Regardless of what you sign up for, you can be sure Yishun can cater to your adventuring needs.

Help where it's needed

Mental Health is very important in our busy world, and Yishun certainly has the capability to support you. Counselling services like those from the Children’s Society or the Methodist Welfare Service are readily available and have centres in the area. If you or your family need to talk it out with a listening ear, Yishun has your back.

Various other social services and initiatives are also available, such as the new social service office (SSO) located at Block 746. It provides support to needy families and individuals in the area by providing them with provisions in partnership with a nearby church.

Something for the nature lovers

For the nature lovers among us, Yishun has the verdant Lower Seletar reservoir to keep you mesmerised. The reservoir is one of the water catchment areas Singapore has invested in for water security, and its banks provide a cool and peaceful area to spend some time. Activities by the reservoir include water sports, fishing and beautiful photographic opportunities.

Don’t forget to also check out the 17-hectare Yishun Park with its multiple playgrounds. There’s even a nature play garden suited for the young ones, with balancing beams and mini-bridges made of logs. The dog lover in your family will love seeing different dogs at the free dog run.

Families For Life @ Community has come to Yishun, so apart from the above activities, look forward to the events and courses we are organising to enrich the lives of you and your family.
