Sentosa has long been a seaside destination for Singaporeans and if you are thinking of a water themed birthday party, then having one at Sentosa’s Adventure Cove Waterpark is a fun way to splash out.
There are a couple of ways to do have a water themed birthday party. The first is to have the entire event planned and hosted by Resorts World Sentosa. They will put together a themed party for you, arrange a party room within the resort as well as tickets and passes to the attraction of your choice. However, if you prefer a more hands-on approach, you can still plan an event around a day at Adventure Cove.
Start with a Fun Themed Lunch
Start off by having lunch at home or at a favourite restaurant. Ideally, you get in the mood with a “fin-tastic” theme. Make tuna sandwiches, serve cheddar goldfish biscuits – Pepperidge farm even does them in rainbow colours, make jello in an electric blue colour to simulate the sea and lay out fish and chips in paper boats. Give out goodie bags of fish shaped bath toys or, if you want to be more practical, swimming goggles or towels.
Make sure each child brings along a bath towel, a change of clothes, a swimming costume and goggles. Rent a locker to keep your valulables and arrange a time and a place to meet up to cater for situations where different kids may prefer to spend time at different activities.
Make sure that all the kids you bring are able to swim confidently. If this isn’t the case, invite enough parents and adults along to make sure that all kids who aren’t good swimmers are accompanied by an adult at all times. Kid-sized life jackets are conveniently placed in bins around the waterpark, so make sure you grab some for the kids who need them.
There’s Lots to Do
There are lots of things to do at the waterpark. For older kids there are several thrilling water slides. For younger children, the lazy river is always fun; especially as it takes you past the special manta ray pool where you see rays of all shapes and sizes “flying” elegantly and impossibly through the water.
