This museum is a great place for military aviation enthusiasts and their families. Apart from a series of indoor galleries which feature the history of aviation in Singapore, the development of the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) and a diorama, there are plenty of military planes to touch, feel and get up close to.
The real highlight of the museum has to be the outdoor exhibition area. The outdoor gallery itself sits on more than 2,000 square metre of land and showcases planes from RSAF's past, some on the ground and some suspended from the 16m high ceiling. All sorts of aircraft – new and old, are on display. These range from the Cessna 172K to BAC 167 Strikemaster, T-33 Shooting Star trainers, Hawker Hunter, SF-260 SIAI Marchetti, and even more recent craft such as the UH-1B Helicopter and A4-S Skyhawk.
In addition to the actual planes, you can also see aircraft armament and air defence artillery such as the Bloodhound Missile, support equipment like practise targets, and even aircraft engines like the Rolls Royce Bristol Viper.
Admission is free and the museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 8.30am to 5pm (Closed on Monday & Public Holidays).
