Families For Life | Best Dating Spots for Couples

You’ve tried the most famous brunches in Singapore, sat through the latest movies, run out of shows to binge on together on streaming platforms and window-shopped across the largest malls. Now, what else can you do during dates on the little red dot?

The answer: plenty. If you’re growing tired of the same old hang-out places, try jumpstarting date night again with a different venue. Check out our list of places to go to add some spice to your relationship.

1. The Galaxy CC Observatory

Take stargazing to another level at this observatory, located at the Woodlands Galaxy Communuity Club in the north of Singapore. Set up by a group of astronomy enthusiasts, the observatory houses a telescope that allows you and bae to get the best views of the moon, stars and sometimes, other planets too. The best part is, each ticket costs just $1. Do check their Facebook page before heading down as the location might not be open when the sky is overcast or during wet weather.

2. Hampstead Wetlands Park

Get off the beaten path and take in a hefty dose of greenery at a quieter (and extremely charming) spot like Hampstead Wetlands Park at Baker Street. At this rustic park, which has been spruced up with a boardwalk and viewing decks, you will find interesting flora and fauna, including dragonflies, butterflies and birds resting on their perches.

3. ORTO

Put a green and wholesome spin to your date by heading to ORTO, a large leisure park offering activities like prawning and longkang fishing. There’s also a trampoline park where you can try your hand at slam dunk, wall running or just plain monkeying around. After burning off all those calories, you can fuel up at one of the many eateries located onsite. This is a family-friendly location, so if you prefer a quieter date, avoid the weekends.

4. Projector X: Riverside

When blockbuster flicks start to feel too cookie-cutter, change up your movie experience with independent films at Project X at Riverside Point. This is a cosy, 48-seater cinema that comes with coffee tables and wireless headphones (you can bid adieu to noises coming from other patrons). Complete the experience by ordering the chilli dogs, thin crust pizzas and a pint or two.

5. Game arcade (various locations)

Arcades aren’t just for kids and teenagers. There’s nothing like an adrenalin-pumping video car race or a friendly air hockey match to de-stress together and bring some child-like fun to the relationship.
