Singapore might look like a concrete jungle, but did you know that there are over 200 farms across the island? These include the expected fish farms, vegetable farms, egg farms, but also unique ones that house insects as well!

Here are some for you and the family to explore:

#1 Hay Dairies

Located at Lim Chu Kang, Hay Dairies is the only goat farm in Singapore, and home to 800 goats of different breeds! Stop by between 9am to 10.30am in the morning to watch the goat milking process, and go on to explore the premises at your own pace. Admission is free, but you’ll need to pay for a packet of Alfalfa Hay if you want to feed the goats yourself, or if you want to purchase fresh goats milk and any other souvenirs.

The farm is closed on Tuesdays and regular operating hours are between 9am and 4pm.

#2 Qian Hu

As Singapore’s largest ornamental fish supplier, Qian Hu exports over 1,000 species of fish to over 80 countries around the world. Besides offering a wide range of beautiful fish to admire, there are also opportunities for a farm tour, longkang fishing experience, and fish spa — so all members of the family can enjoy. And don’t worry about the farm being difficult to access, because Qian Hu offers a shuttle bus service from Choa Chu Kang MRT!

#3 BEE AMAZED

Did you know that bees go beyond just giving us honey? They are also one of the most important pollinators and play a big part in our ecology and agriculture. Find out more about these fascinating insects with a visit to BEE AMAZED. A tour of the garden will give you all the buzz about bee keeping and local honeybees. You’ll also be able to visit the hives observatory and get up close with the bees in a safe environment before taking home a jar of deliciously sweet honey.
