Families For Life | Fun Experiences For The Whole Family

Children’s Day is not just about the kids! It is a celebration of the joy our kids bring to our lives and everything that makes our inner child go “wow”! While your kids may have already celebrated at school, it doesn’t mean you can’t add to the fun! The good news is that a new month brings new experiences to treat your little ones, especially since it is the long weekend, too!

We picked out seven activities you can fill your Children’s Day weekend with that will surely give your kids unforgettable family memories!

1. Learn family values with birds at Celebrating Our Grands Family Trail

From 1 - 31 October, Families for Life has partnered with Mandai Wildlife Group, Bird Paradise to offer an exclusive family experience with your favourite bird species! The “Celebrating Our Grands Family Trail” is specially curated for you and your loved ones to discover heartwarming ways birds show family values and build familial bonds with one another. Plus, there are exciting activities, promotions, and gifts to win when you bring their grandparents for a whole family outing this Children’s Day weekend!

2. Go for a Play:Date at the National Museum of Singapore

Step back into the past at the National Museum of Singapore and reconnect with the toys and games from your childhood. The museum has been transformed with large-scale artworks by local artists, toy collections ranging from dolls to toy cars and retro game consoles, and personalised gaming experiences to take your visit to the next level. It makes a good learning experience for your kids to see how their favourite toys have changed over the years, from your time to theirs!

3. Pop into bubbly fun at Bubble Planet

Recently opened last September, this bubble-inspired exhibition is packed with whimsical and interactive experiences to remind you of the joy of playing with bubbles. With 11 uniquely themed areas, you and your kids will be treated to rooms filled with balloons, plenty of photo-op spots, and a huge bubble bath ball pit to dive into for the ultimate bubble-tastic experience!

4. Stack up on imaginative play at the Art of the Brick exhibition

If your kids are in their LEGO phase, this is the place to be! Immerse yourself into a colourful world where there are more than 150 artworks to admire made entirely from LEGOs, from world-famous art pieces to a 6-metre-long Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton! Plus, there’s even a play area for your little ones if they feel inspired to start building something right there and then!

5. Bounce with joy at Bouncy Paradise

If your kids are always full of energy, they’ll be jumping for joy at Singapore’s largest indoor bouncy castle! Bounce, jump, swing, slide, and climb your way over 20,000 square feet of inflatable slides, obstacle courses and more, perfect for you and your kids to expend it in. Plus, it is air-conditioned, so there is less fuss over sweat and more focus on playtime!

6. Try 3D doodling at the Keppel Center for Art Education

It’s not often you can say you’ve drawn in 3D. Take a trip down to Keppel Centre for Art Education at National Gallery Singapore and explore the wondrous world of art with your little ones. Let your kids express their creativity by interacting with the various art spaces and digitised canvases available. All you need is curiosity and imagination!

7. Experience worldwide Children’s Day traditions at home

Did you know that some countries celebrate Children’s Day differently? Why not bring some of these traditions home and create a one-of-a-kind experience for your little ones?

In Japan, Kodomo no Hi is often celebrated by hanging up colourful carp streamers called koinobori, which symbolise the desire for children to grow strong and represent parents’ wishes for their children to be resilient and successful in the future. Organise a crafty day with your kids to make your own koinobori and hang them up to remind your children that they're as resilient as carp swimming upstream!

Meanwhile, in Turkey, children get to role-play key government roles, such as president, which fosters a sense of responsibility in adults and reminds everyone that children are the nation’s future. You can replicate this vision at home, where you and your kids can roleplay your dream jobs and pretend you are making the world better by completing tasks with your special responsibilities!

Make Children’s Day one to remember

Children’s Day is about celebrating the fun of being a kid and strengthening your bonds with your kids at the same time. So, take the opportunity to let loose your inner child and have fun with your little ones! Don’t forget to snap lots of photos to cherish these precious moments for years to come. Happy Children’s Day!
