About Families for Life Celebrations 2017
What is the event about?
Families for Life Celebrations 2017 is back again at the Civic District, in conjunction with Car-Free Sunday on 28 May 2017 (Sunday)!
Themed ‘Family Time’ #IChooseFamilyTime, Families for Life Celebrations is a great opportunity for families to make every family moment count. There are many things that require our attention, but it is about making a conscious decision to prioritise quality time spent with our loved ones.

Where is the event held?
Families for Life Celebrations 2017 is held Padang, Civic District. Please refer to the Car Free Sunday SG website or the "How to Get There" tab for directional details.
On Registration
Do I need to pay for registration?
Participation is free. Families who pre-register with us can receive a Families for Life goodie bag per family and get a chance at our "sure-win" lucky dip, on a first-come-first-served basis, while stocks last. One lucky dip chance per registration.
Who is eligible to register for the event?
Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents residing in Singapore can register for the event.
Can I register on behalf of someone else?
Please register for your own family.
Is there any limit in terms of the number of family members that I can bring along?
We encourage multi-generation families to join us for the event. There is no limit on the number of family members you can bring to the event. However, do indicate the total number of attendees in your registration form.
What do I need to bring for goodie bag redemption at the event?
Please present your registration email via your smartphone/hardcopy printout and NRIC of the registrant to redeem the goodie bag (one per family, while stocks last).
On Event Day
What time should we be at the event?
• Families for Life Duathlon
(Flag off at 8.15am, Stamford Road, in front of National Gallery)
We are starting bright and early for the Families for Life Duathlon. Gather at the start pen in front of National Gallery at 7.45am and we will do a warm-up together before the flag off. Please wear comfortable attire and keep yourself hydrated during the Duathlon. Remember to put up your bib so that you can enter into the start pen.
Come early to get an umbrella hat from us for the extra shade, while stocks last!
• Family Walk
(Flag off at 8.45am, Stamford Road, in front of National Gallery)
The Family Walk will flag off after the Duathlon. Gather at the starting point in front of National Gallery by 8.15am and we will do a warm-up together before the flag off. Please wear comfortable attire for the walk and bring along sufficient water for hydration.
Gather all your extended family members to form the largest family contingent for the Family Walk and you might walk away with $500 dining vouchers! If you are interested to participate in the contest, registration is between 7.45am to 8.15am. Look out for our crew holding the "Family Walk – Largest Family Contingent contest" signage.

• Breakfast Picnic
(from 8.00am onwards, Padang)
Come by Padang to enjoy a wide and sumptuous spread of food and drinks on sale at the Heritage Hawker stalls and Farmer’s market.
• Family sports and activities
(from 8.00am onwards, Padang, Connaught Drive, Esplanade Park)
Check out the fun sports, and activities and try-outs for families, which include inflatable
• “Drive-in” Movie Screening and Picnic
(from 5pm onwards, Padang)
Picnic will begin at 5pm. We encourage families to be early and get a good spot for the picnic and movie! Get creative and make a family cardboard car together. Collect the cardboard car (one set per family) from 5pm onwards, while stocks last! Movie screening of the "Despicable Me 2" will start at 7.30pm.

Where do I go for the Goodie Bag redemption & Sure-Win Lucky Dip?
Please bring along your NRIC and look out for the Goodie Bag Redemption Booth at Padang. One lucky dip chance per registration. The sure-win lucky dip will be carried out during goodie bag redemption. The redemption counters will be open from 9am to 12 noon and 4.30pm to 7.30pm. There will be no collection after the event.
What happens if it rains heavily or there is bad haze on the event day?
Should the event be cancelled due to bad weather/haze, participants will be notified by the organiser via SMS and updates will be done via Families for Life Facebook page at www.facebook.com/familiesforlife.sg.
Will there be any sale of food and drinks at the event?
Yes, there will be heritage hawker food and drink stalls at Padang. Families are also encouraged to bring their own food and drinks to create a unique picnic experience!
Can I bring a chair / beach chair / stool / table?
Safety is important to give everyone a nice experience at the event. As such, no foldable tables, chairs or stools are allowed on the picnic grounds.
Can I bring a tent or small canopy structure to provide shade?
No tents or other structures with canopy are allowed on the picnic grounds as these might obstruct other families.
Are there toilets at the event?
There are portable toilet facilities located near the picnic grounds.
Is there wheelchair access?
Yes, kindly approach the working crew for directions.
How could we dispose of our trash?
Trash bins will be provided at the picnic grounds. Please ensure that your area is litter-free when you leave to create a pleasant picnic ground for everyone.
