What is the event about?
Families for Life Celebrations 2018 is back again at the Padang, Civic District, in conjunction with Car-Free Sunday on 27 May 2018 (Sunday)!
Themed "Family Time #IChooseFamilyTime", Families for Life Celebrations is a great opportunity for families to make every family moment count. There are many things that require our attention, but it is about making a conscious decision to prioritise quality time spent with our loved ones.
Where is the event held? How do we get there?
Families for Life Celebrations 2018 is held Padang, Civic District. Please refer to the Car Free Sunday SG website for road closures and directional details.
On Registration
Who is eligible to register for the event?
Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents residing in Singapore can register for the event. The main registrant should be at least 18 years of age. Registration will end once quota is reached. Each family address is limited to ONE registration. Duplicate registrations with the same household address will not be accepted.
Do I need to pay for registration?
Participation is free. Families who pre-register with us can receive a Families for Life goodie bag per family and get a chance at our lucky draw. One lucky draw chance per registration.
Where can I collect the goodie bag?
Goodie bag redemption will be at the Redemption Booth at the Padang on the side of the Singapore Recreation Club. Pre-registered families can proceed to the redemption booth which will be open from 9.00am to 7.30pm. The Goodie Bag redemption booth will close at 7.30pm sharp. Please note that the redemption is on a first-come-first-serve-basis and strictly while stocks last on event day. There will not be any redemption of goodie bag after the event. For walk-in registrants, please proceed to the walk-in counter to register and receive a token on a first-come-first-serve-basis, while stocks last.
Can I register on behalf of someone else?
Please register for your own family.
What do I need to bring for goodie bag redemption at the event?
Please present your registration confirmation email via your smartphone/hardcopy printout with the QR code to redeem the goodie bag.
Is there any limit in terms of the number of family members that I can bring along?
We encourage multi-generation families to join us for the event. There is no limit on the number of family members you can bring to the event. However, do indicate the total number of attendees in your registration form.
Can we bring our pets to the event?
Yes, the event is pet-friendly. Do follow these simple rules to enjoy a great time - Keep pets on a leash at all times and clean up after your pet.
What is in the goodie bag?
The items in the goodie bag are a Families for Life Activity Guide, a Families for Life picnic mat and a Families for Life frisbee.
On Event Day
What time should we be at the event?
• Families On Wheels @ Civic District
(Flag off at 9.00am, Stamford Road, in front of National Gallery)
Gather at the start pen in front of National Gallery at 8.45am and we will do a warm-up together before the flag off. Please wear comfortable attire and bring along your own water bottles to keep yourself hydrated at the hydration points found along the route.
Families are encouraged to bring your own wheels - bicycles, kick scooters, strollers, prams, wheelchairs, rollerblades, roller skates, skateboards, Personal Mobility Devices etc. to the event.
(Please note on the following PMDs restrictions: LTA compliant PMDs only - max 20kg, max 0.7m width, max device speed of 25km/h. To stay within speed limit of 15km/h on Car-Free Sunday closed roads only.)
• Bouncy Wonderland @ Padang
(from 9.00am onwards, Padang)
Have a great bouncy time! There will be a whole range of bouncy castles to entertain you and your family throughout the day! Enjoy a whole day of bouncing fun on the many inflatables at the Padang, from kiddy bouncy castles for the little ones to large inflatable obstacles for the young at heart. Play the inflatable sports activities or complete the obstacles together as a family and enjoy fun family time. Remember to stay hydrated!
• Breakfast Picnic
(from 9.00am onwards, Padang)
Pack a picnic basket with your favourite breakfast food at the Padang or check out the variety of breakfast items on sale at the Heritage Hawker stalls.
• Families for Life Evening Picnic and Movie Screening
(from 5.00pm onwards, Padang)
Picnic will begin at 5.00pm. We encourage families to be early and get a good spot for the picnic and movie! Movie screening will start at 7.30pm.

Where do I go for the Goodie Bag redemption?
Please bring along the confirmation email on your smart phones/devices or print out of the confirmation email and look out for the Goodie Bag Redemption Booth at Padang. The redemption counters will be open from 9.00am to 7.30pm. There will be no collection after the event.
What happens if it rains heavily or there is bad haze on the event day?
Should the event be cancelled due to bad weather/haze, participants will be notified by the organiser via SMS and updates will be done via Families for Life Facebook page at www.facebook.com/familiesforlife.sg.
Do I need to pay for the snacks and drinks from the FFL Mobile Café?
No, these are provided complimentary, first-come-first-served, while stocks last.
Will there be any sale of food and drinks at the event?
Yes, there will be heritage hawker food and drink stalls at Padang. Families are also encouraged to bring your own food and drinks to create a unique picnic experience! Do bring along your own water bottles to keep yourself hydrated at the water points.
Can I bring a chair / beach chair / stool / table?
Safety is important to give everyone a nice experience at the event. As such, no foldable tables, chairs or stools are allowed on the picnic grounds.
Can I bring a tent or small canopy structure to provide shade?
No tents or other structures with canopy are allowed on the picnic grounds as these might obstruct other families.
Are there toilets at the event?
There are portable toilet facilities located near the Padang grounds.
Is there wheelchair access?
Yes, kindly approach the working crew for directions.
How could we dispose of our trash?
Trash bins will be provided at the picnic grounds. Please ensure that your area is litter-free when you leave to create a pleasant picnic ground for everyone.
