Families For Life | Pregnancy: Week 7
With arms and legs beginning to take shape, your baby will be curling a little hand around your finger in no time.
What's happening to your baby?
Your precious little one is now about the size of a blueberry, between 4.8 and 6.6mm. Baby's currently busy with brain development. Both hemispheres of the brain are taking shape and new brain cells are being generated at 100 cells per minute. Move over Einstein! Little hands and feet are starting to protrude from the limbs but they look more like paddles at this stage. Your baby's mouth and tongue are forming this week, and kidneys are also in place.
What's happening to you?
If you're trying to hide your pregnancy, your nausea may just give you away. Many women will experience pregnancy nausea and vomiting. The smell of meat might make your stomach churn, or other weird food aversions might suddenly pop up. Stick to less stimulating foods and snack often to help settle your stomach. Don't fret though; your nausea should ease by the end of the first trimester. Your breasts might have had a sudden growth spurt. Take care, as they may be sore or tender to touch.
