Families For Life | Optimal Learning Hub - Marriage Preparation Programme - Towards a Lifetime of Togetherness

Marriage involves sharing your entire life with someone you have chosen to love. However, all couples face ups and downs and not all are prepared for the unexpected difficulties in communication and the challenges that arise when our personal lives are so closely entwined.

This Workshop is intended to create awareness of the stages of marital life, the joys and challenges, and provide a space and opportunity for modern couples to openly explore and understand each other’s personalities, motivations, love languages, and be able to embrace the special qualities of the soulmate they have each chosen. Conducted by highly trained facilitators. Interactive for personalized sharing.

What you will learn:

  • Choice and Expectations of Marriage- understanding your reasons for choosing to get married and what you expect in being married.

  • Family of Origin- understanding each other’s family and their influence in the relationship

  • Self-Awareness and Mutual Respect- Discovering and learning to respect each other’s personality traits. talents, love languages, motivations and strengths

  • Communication & Conflict Resolution- Understanding the stages of Marital Growth and factors contributing to Marital Breakdown. Couples learn to use tools to manage quarrels and resolve conflicts in a respectful manner

  • Sexual Intimacy and Family Planning- couples discuss deeper levels of communication through intimacy in the relationship and plans of why or when you wish to start a family

  • Financial Planning and Management- guides on prioritising finances to ensure a stable family life, balancing prudence and awareness of pitfalls.

Who is this programme for:

Age: 21 years and above

Nationality: At least one spouse is a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident

Marriage Duration: Soon-to-wed or newly-wed couples (married less than 2 years)

Format: Group, 1 session x 8.5 hours + 1 virtual session x 1 hour
