What's happening to your baby?

What began as a tiny cluster of cells nine months ago is now the size of a watermelon! At full term, a baby is about 46 to 56cm long and weighs between 3 and 3.7kg. Everything's fully formed, baby is in position and, at this stage, it's just about waiting for the long-awaited meeting to take place.

What's happening to you?

You might be losing sleep wondering when it's all going to kick off. Don't worry, 10 percent of pregnancies do go past their due date. Your doctor will be monitoring your progress, and if there are any suspected issues, for example, low water level, you'll be advised to undergo labour induction or Caesarean section delivery. Meanwhile, keep an eye out for the signs of labour, rest and keep track of your baby's movements.
