With the Teacher’s Day weekend (4 to 6 September 2020) and start of the September school holidays approaching, planning fun and engaging activities to keep your family thrilled and entertained can be a real head scratcher. So, if you have taken some time off work and are looking for ways to spend quality time with your family, here are a few suggested activities to include in your itinerary to kick off this exciting weekend.
Ever heard of the saying – “Food tastes better when you eat it with family”? Well, food might taste even better when it is cooked with family! Get each family member to “hunt” for at least three ingredients to cook with – either from the local market or from your kitchen pantry. Then, brainstorm and invent a new recipe to cook together, using these gathered ingredients.
Don’t forget to name this family-inspired dish before tucking in and have a wonderful family meal together on Friday 4 September 2020 which is also Eat With Your Family Day!
Consider having a picnic with your family out on the huge lawn at Hort Park or on the Green Roof at the Marina Barrage. Whatever your choice may be, a picnic is a fantastic way to unwind with your family and enjoy nature at the same time. With plenty of choices for good picnic spots, all you have to do is throw a fuss free picnic basket together and you are good to go!
If it’s a test of endurance you seek, rock climbing is a great way to push your limits and give you the adrenaline rush you crave. And if you have young children, you will be happy to know that there are plenty of rock climbing gyms in Singapore that offer climbing activities for all ages, in air conditioned comfort. What more can a parent ask for?
Fancy a break from Singapore’s hot and humid weather? Take a trip to Snow City Singapore to experience winter in our sunny island. You can also strike a pose with snow sculptures, and slide down the three-storey high snow slope in a safe and frosty environment!
If your family likes taking part in trivia quizzes or simply enjoy music, they are bound to love FFL’s three nights of Family Fun and Laughter Nights #FFLNights happening over the weekend from 4 - 6 September, 8pm to 9.30pm – Live on FFL’s Facebook page.
When it comes to quizzes, more heads are better than one, so gather the whole family together to answer questions on local food, movies and music. Make sure to park the most dexterous family member by the keyboard because the fastest fingers with the correct answers stand to win limited edition FFL NETSFlashPay card sets.
For the grand prize? A staycation package at Marina Bay Sands to be won each night in a daily lucky draw segment!
With live performances from local bands 53A, Jack & Rai and vocal duo, ShiLi and Adi thrown into the mix, expect three nights of endless fun and laughter making this long weekend the one to remember!
