Be part of the Chinatown Street Light-Up

Nothing says CNY more than the annual street light-up in Chinatown! The eye-catching lantern centrepiece this year are sculpted in the likeness of a family of tigers to signify reunion, harmony and prosperity. With the light-up extending all the way till 2 March and the option of watching the celebrations on livestream , there’s really no need to squeeze with the crowds!

What’s CNY in Singapore without Chingay? This year, our favourite street parade turns 50! Themed 'Ignite Our Dreams’, Chingay50 returns in the form of live performances as well as via livestreaming. Living up to its inclusive DNA, the festival has organised a series of community programmes for all residents to take part in – from dance contests and a mini-float competition to a walk-down-memory-lane online photo gallery.

What’s black and white, fluffy and absolutely adorable? Le Le, the Giant Panda cub, of course! The offspring of Kai Kai and Jia Jia, Le Le is Singapore’s newest pride and joy. Make your way down to Mandai and meet Le Le in his special nursery as he plays, snoozes and learns to walk – just like any other newborn.

Ushering in the Year of the Tiger at Universal Studios is none other than Master Tigress, from DreamWorks Animation’s Kung Fu Panda. Together with Po and the Yang Warriors, this popular character makes her first ever appearance here.
