Get an inside view on how the Singapore Police Force has developed over the years. First founded in the 1819 with just 1 sergeant, 12 constables and 1 jailor, our Police Force is now an effective unit and a pillar that supports Singapore’s belief in the rule of law, a corrupt-free government and the Police as a trusted community partner.

The Police Heritage Centre (PHC) is made up of a series of galleries which will introduce you to the history of the Police Force, leading Police Commissioners, Honours and Awards received by the Police Force as well as the evolution of the Police uniform, rank and insignia.

Special sections are dedicated to the Pioneer Police Force, the Post-War Period and the modern Republic of Singapore Police Force. Find out when and why the “999” police hotline number was launched, the role the police had in dealing with the triads and secret societies in the early days of Singapore and much more.

Tours are free and by appointment only. They are available on Tuesdays to Fridays from 10am to 5pm and Saturdays from 10am to 1pm. The Heritage Centre is closed on Mondays, Sundays and Public Holidays. Contact the Police Heritage Centre to find out more.
