At 21km, the new Downtown Line 3 (DTL3) is the longest of the blue lines to be opened. It connects 16 stations in eastern Singapore—from Fort Canning to Expo—with interchange stations at MacPherson, Tampines, and Expo.

With DTL3, you will have greater accessibility to more family-friendly activities located in the central and eastern parts of the island. We’ve shortlisted the places near the DTL3 where you can spend a fun day with your family:

Fort Canning Station (DT20)

Fort Canning Park
There’s something for everyone at this iconic hilltop park. History buffs will enjoy exploring archaeological sites and historic locations located within the park. Nature lovers will relish being steeped in the park’s lush, natural surroundings. Situated on a hill, a walk around the park makes for a good family workout. Bencoolen Station (DT21)

Fun fact: This station is hands-down the deepest MRT station in Singapore — at 43m below street level!


Urban PlaySpace
Just 5 minutes away at Fortune Centre is Urban RC PlaySpace, where radio control races are regularly organised at the rooftop of the building’s multi-storey car park. Your children will be delighted to see the Radio Control (RC) cars in action, plus family members seeking respite from the heat can get comfortable in an air-conditioned area. Bedok Reservoir Station (DT30)

Thrill-seeking families can satisfy their thirst for adventure here! Enjoy a good run on the park’s 4.3km-long track, or try tackling an obstacle course perched on treetops at Forest Adventure! Courses are open to children 5 years old and older. Find out more about Forest Adventure here

Families who prefer a more laid-back day can choose to chill on a floating deck, go fishing or bird watch at the park.

Tampines West Station (DT31)

Step into a larger-than-life maze — right in the Tampines heartland! Located at Block 944 Tampines Avenue 5, it’s the perfect spot for a relaxing stroll with your family, racing the kids, and even snapping a few pictures for your Instagram account! The maze garden is also accessible via the Tampines MRT Station.

Tampines Station (DT32)

Our Tampines Hub
Opened in 2016, this mall is Singapore’s first-ever integrated community and lifestyle hub. Get active with activities, such as badminton at their sport facilities; relax in the jacuzzi at the swimming complex; learn more about eco-sustainability at their Eco-Community Garden; or let your children have boundless fun with bouncy castles and an all-inclusive playground! Tampines Eco-Green
The 36-hectare eco-friendly park is home to a rich biodiversity, so gear your children up for a fun hike along the park’s many nature trails, and appreciate nature while you’re at it. Although it’s a good 20-minute walk from the MRT station, it can be a great time to chat or catch up with each other. Get directions to the park here. Note: It is advisable to leave the park when it gets dark as there is no lighting there.

Expo Station (DT35)
