The National Heritage Board’s annual Children’s Season Singapore returns in 2017, presenting cultural and educational experiences that will inspire, engage and educate our young audience. This year’s edition goes beyond museums and will encompass all aspects of art, culture, heritage and education.
With a wide range of programmes, exhibitions and engaging family activities for children of all ages, Singapore will be the place to be for children and families to create special memories together this June!
Highlights this year include Join the Dots! at the National Museum of Singapore, where you can pick your favourite mode of traditional transport and embark on a trail to discover popular family hangouts and heritage enclaves from the 1970s and 1980s; as well as Ghost Nets of the Ocean - Au Karem ira Lamar Lu at the Asian Civilisations Museum, a spectacular marine-themed exhibition, inhabited by marine creatures made with ocean debris and recycled plastic materials that raises awareness on conservation and the dangers of ocean pollution.

Be transported to a wonderland of discovery and play at the National Museum this Children’s Season! Look forward to pop-ups of favourite Singapore family hangouts of the 1970s and 1980s, and a new interactive roving theatre that will take you around the museum’s galleries and spaces. Families can hop on their favourite mode of transport and go on a trail to “join the dots” and experience “connections” of friendship, family, monuments and memories through interactive exhibits and installations, sensorial stations, hands-on play, story-telling sessions and more! Young Cinema will also present well-known animated cartoons and children’s classics from the world.
Children's Biennale: Dreams & Stories

Calling the young and young at heart! The first edition of the Children’s Biennale, a four-month-long festival organised by the Gallery, invites you to discover art in a whole new way. Explore dreams and stories through site-specific installations, interactive artworks and a stimulating line-up of music performances, film showcases and art-inspired programmes designed especially for kids and families.
In conjunction with the local Children’s Biennale, talented local musicians will take you on a journey through dreams and stories in Resonates With on Sun, 28 May at the Padang Atrium at 2pm, 3pm & 4pm.
Or start exploring how different kinds of work are depicted in art. Then, pick up an activity sheet and get to work at the Drop-in Activity: Artworks at the Keppel Centre for Art Education from 10am to 6pm.

The Singapore Art Museum welcomes you back to the 7th edition of our family focused exhibition Imaginarium: To the Ends of the Earth. Taking a closer look at the surroundings and environments we reside in, we see how people, flora, and fauna, adapt to their ever-changing surroundings. With the technological progress we have made, we now have better insight into far-flung locations, and are better connected than before, but are we really any closer to appreciating earth’s many marvels? Through inspiring and engaging artworks, Imaginarium 2017, the introduces explorers to new ways of seeing and experiencing the world around us.

Civic District Tree Trail

The Civic District Tree Trail takes you through Singapore’s historic Civic District where you will be marveled by many majestic and interesting trees, some of which have stood tall for many generations and witnessed the transformation and progress of Singapore through the years. Join us as we take you through part of the trail starting from Raffles Landing to CHIJMES.
Things to bring: Drinking water, umbrella/cap/hat and mosquito repellent. Do wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Registration will be on a first-come first-served basis and will close when slots are full. Successful registrants will be notified by 24 May 2017.

Pioneer Trail Along Ann Siang Hill and Telok Ayer Green

Learn about the trade and ways of life of Singapore's early immigrants in this walking trail around a quiet enclave amidst the hustle and bustle of Chinatown. Visit places of worship and old shop houses built in the 1800s. Spice up your walk with a close look at interesting fruit and spice trees planted along the way and visit the old well at the foot of Ann Siang Hill.
Things to bring: Water, umbrella and mosquito repellent. Do wear comfortable clothes, preferably long pants and covered shoes. Registration will be on a first-come first-served basis and will close when slots are full. Successful registrants will be notified by 25 May 2017.
