Whether you’re looking for an adventure in the woods or a scenic walk by the water, read on to discover some of Singapore’s hidden gems where you can spend quality time with your family!
Raffles Marina Lighthouse Sunset Walk
This gorgeous lighthouse looks out over the water towards the Tuas Second Link and is best visited in the evenings. It’s the perfect spot for a family stroll to catch the breathtaking sunset and enjoy the sea breeze. Don’t forget to snap a few pics to put in the photo album!
The lighthouse has dining options nearby to wrap up the night with a delightful meal and the company of loved ones!
Smith Marine Floating Restaurant
Fresh seafood doesn’t get any fresher than this! Located in the middle of the sea, this restaurant is a 10-minute boat ride away from the Changi Ferry Point Terminal. Don’t worry about getting there – Smith Marine can assist you with your ferry reservations!
Once you’re there, the restaurant offers plenty of opportunities for family fun! There’s a fish farm attached to the restaurant, which means you can try catching your dinner (for a small fee). As you wait for your meal, the restaurant also provides board games and a foosball table to pass the time before digging into your scrumptious meal.
With fishing and board games to enjoy with loved ones, this will certainly be a meal to remember!
Seletar Fishing Village
This one is for the adventurous ones! If you have older children who love exploring as much as you do, this hidden spot in Singapore might be just for you!
Located near Lower Seletar reservoir, this humble gem is situated near other popular destinations like Seletar Airport and Yishun Dam. While the main village is off-limits to the public, you can book private tours to explore Singapore’s last fishing village. If your family is more in tune with nature, the beach and breakwater offer a gorgeous sunset view.
While this location isn’t for every family, curious ones who aren’t afraid to walk off the beaten path will find a unique experience waiting for them here!
Bukit Timah Railway Station
Open to the public since 2011, this little bit of Singapore’s history is a fascinating place to visit. The station itself comprises two conserved buildings, the Bukit Timah Railway Station and the Railway Staff Quarters. However, the community node surrounding the buildings also include two gardens, the Kampong Garden and the Herb and Spice Gardens.
Take a walk around the buildings, immerse yourself in the atmosphere and check out some of Singapore’s iconic plants growing in the gardens. It might get hot so be sure to plan and pack everything you need for the trip, especially if you’re going with younger kids!
Don’t forget to check out the small café located in the vicinity. It’s a great way to round out the trip with cool drinks and a chat about your day’s experience.
Thow Kwang Pottery
Crafty families, we’ve found the perfect place for a fun family day out! Home to Singapore’s oldest surviving dragon kiln, Thow Kwang Pottery offers an impressive range of pottery wares and vintage furniture as well.
The best part? They have workshops! Transform a lump of clay into a little ceramic cup just for you! They even have “paw stamping” workshops where you can involve any furry family members too. Adorable!
Singapore is brimming with unique experiences and opportunities to make lasting memories with your loved ones.
